HOW TO HAVE MORE BEST DAYS EVER MORE OFTEN

I’VE COMMITTED TO NUMBER 7 AND YOU SHOULD TOO.

If we are all in pursuit of anything it’s happiness. All we do, have and hope to achieve is in the  attempt to be content and happy. The pursuit of happiness is the life blood that fuels the economys of the world and is the sole motivation of human kind . But what exactly is happiness? It is like asking what is love or what is the meaning of life. The answer will depend on the mood of whichever individual you happen upon.

Now while we may not be able to define happiness for others  surely ,with some thought we might be able to define it for ourselves. What brings us joy ,what makes us feel alive, what keeps us engaged and  productive.
Certainly we have all had a day when it all clicked and everything seemed to go our way, so that when the day ended we felt satisfied and the smile on our face just stayed without us noticing, a smile that wasn’t forced , a smile that didn’t hurt.

We might call that a great day.

Sometimes nothing specific happened but we enjoyed it nonetheless,  we didn’t crush anything major , break any records or barriers but we went to bed content .
If we can have one  great day without being particularly great at any one thing  then there must be things we can do and actions we can take to have more days when we feel optimistic and positive dispite our external environment . 

No matter what season of your  life you find yourself In. These tips below will ensure you  enjoy many best days ever.

1 . PREPARATION
A great day begins from the night before. Think back to anytime when you woke up with a hangover or misplaced a foot of shoe or couldn’t find your purse think about the downhill effect that had on your entire day.
Having a great day consistently requires some overnight planning . For super busy people with multiple responsibilities this is highly recommended.  A plan for the coming day is necessary so you can form an idea of how you will  delegate your time and put things into place to avoid pitfalls and unnecessary mishaps. Stumbling around like headless chicken doesn’t even suit the chicken . Take a few minutes to write down your goals and think about how you plan to achieve them. This simple action has set in motion a successful day. Even if you are not busy I find that planning for tomorrow gives one a sense of something to look forward to.

2 . ADEQUATE SLEEP NIGHTLY
Let’s face it every night is different. Some nights you have the luxury of retiring to bed early, other nights you may not.  If you are able to enjoy a full eight hour sleep then ensure you do so. Every individuals need is different, some people function at prime capacity with only 5 hours of sleep, others not so well. Our body and spirit need sleep time to reboot repair and replenish themselves.
Getting enough sleep leaves you rested and refreshed to tackle the day ahead.

3 . CHALLENGE YOURSELF PHYSICALLY DAILY
Make time for physical activity. Whether at the start of your day or whatever time you feel comfortable. For me I work out best in the evenings . If you can’t do a full 30 minutes then become creative, can you walk more? Use the stairs more ? Play hide and seek with your child? Dance ? Start with one of the many 10 minute workouts on youtube? There is no excuse for not moving. Physical activity releases hormones which help us mentally by reducing our stress Ievel . I  Personally believe that we all make time for the important things .

4 . PRACTICE MORE GRATITUDE
When was the last time you said thank you to your waitress or waiter ? When was the last time you thanked the taxi driver? Gratitude incorporated into our daily lives help to bring more kindness into our world. It also puts the focus on others and keeps us present. 5 . NIBBLE ON A TIDBIT OF INSPIRATION. 
Doesn’t it feel good to hear of people doing wonderful things in the world? ( yes I know jealousy seeps in but never mind that) for the most part It makes you feel encouraged to keep going because you can one day accomplish wonderful things too. Starting your day with something inspirational sets the tone for your day better than anything else ever could.

6 . PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FORWARD
Whatever your goal for that day ensure you give it 100 percent. Ensure that you look your best and do your best. Doing the best you can makes you more likely to succeed and even  if you fail at the end of the day  you can be content that you did all you could for that day.  You will not have to contend with regrets, instead it becomes a learning  moment where you assess  what to do differently next time.

7 . MAKE LAUGHTER A DAILY HABIT. 
They say laughter is the best medicine . And it is. I sometimes hear people say they cannot recall the last time they laughed and I wonder how ! What!

I personally schedule laughter as a part of my day on purpose.  I Make it a point of duty to search youtube for the latest stand up Comedy available, or I watch reruns of my favorite comedy series every single day. There are so many funny videos on social media these days  . However you get your daily dose of  laughter is unimportant . Laughter releases happy hormones , burns calories , helps with blood flow to the heart and  attract wonderful people to you.
